Although Smart Marketing began by working with small businesses, our scope of services quickly broadened to include large corporations. The company was re-branded from Smart Marketing for Small Businesses to the current Smart Marketing namesake as a result of our ever-increasing corporate client base.

Although a majority of the Smart Marketing employees are part-time workers and fortunate to have a strong work/life balance by telecommuting from home, everyone brings full-time talent to the table. Care has been taken to find the right mix of talented professionals to support the company's goals.

Our Staff:

Olivia Hensley founded Smart Marketing in 2005. She holds a Master’s Degree in Media Relations/PR and has nearly 20 years of experience in the field of sales and marketing. When not managing Smart Marketing’s daily operations or her talented marketing team, Olivia is managing her home team, which includes her patient husband Steve, three children Jace, Jillian and Joey; their dogs Henry and Charlie and their two cats. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys spending time with her family, biking, reading and cooking.

Jim Tierney, our enormously talented Creative Director, has been with Smart Marketing since 2006. From cartoon work to web and graphics design, Jim ensures every print and web piece for the company looks its best. He has a fine arts background, including a degree in painting, and likes the variety of work that allows him to put his creative talents to work. In his spare time, Jim enjoys cartooning, video games and going to the gym.

When Smart Marketing first began, Christie Arnold was the very first employee Olivia hired. Since then, Christie has worked hard to be able to leave the 9-5 rat race to have the flexibility to enjoy "growing up" with her 13 year old daughter. Christie's 20 years experience as a graphic designer includes web, packaging, print catalogs, and working with other countries in the middle of the night to coordinate product production and distribution. She now enjoys the Arizona night sky and researching anything scientific, or sci-fi, with her daughter. They stay busy rescuing and rehabing dogs, kitties, and reptiles, and enjoy teaching safety and science to children on everything from wildlife to firearms.

Tiffany Russo is our resident web development expert. Tiffany has a BS in Computer Systems Engineering and over 5 years of web development experience. She is deftly able to handle any development task thrown her way. Her code has been described as "To the highest standards," "Well developed, well labeled, and search engine friendly," "You can pick up her code and just run with it - it's that clean," and "Tight!" by coworkers, clients and even competitors. In her spare time, Tiffany enjoys spending time with her husband and playing computer games.

As Smart Marketing's Social Media Marketing Manager, Becky Morris plans, organizes, and schedules the creation and publishing of marketing materials on social media sites, blogs, and websites. She serves as a liaison between our clients' businesses and the online community. Becky also is responsible for mail list management and research. Becky and her family enjoy the rural outdoor life of Upstate New York and have recently taken several new hobbies like making maple syrup; raising calves, pigs, and free-range chickens; and organic gardening. Becky brings 15+ years of experience in accounting and management and holds a Bachelor's degree in accounting and a Master's degree in education.

Although they have retired from the public sector, Mike and Geri Yaccarino are kept quite busy processing all direct mail pieces for Smart Marketing clients and Geri does administrative work for Smart Marketing. When they’re not busy handling up to 2,000 to 3,000 mail pieces each month, this take-charge husband and wife team can be found reading, going to plays, and spending time with their family, which includes seven grandchildren.

Dawn Leonhardt joins our team as research assistant and copywriter. She has spent the last 15 years working as the office manager and customer service representative for a professional photographer. She is an experienced writer, both for fun and for professional purposes. During the adoption process of her two children, Dawn kept up journals and blogs about their experiences. Their life has been a story pieced together and published online for family and friends to enjoy and is often referred to by adoption agencies as "educational material" for other families researching the adoption process. This writing talent and attention to our customers' needs makes Dawn a valuable asset to our team.

Meredith Simpson is one of Smart Marketing's research assistants, copywriters, and social media strategists. 7+ years in corporate document printing and account management as well as a background in design have prepared her to contribute to the growth and success of Smart Marketing clients. In addition to dedicating her time to her husband, Steve, and daughters Lindsay, Caroline, and Kate, Meredith can usually be found online blogging, at 5 a.m. boot camp, in the car running kids here and there, dabbling in photography, or teaching her girls the lost domestic arts of cooking and sewing.

Brianna Palmer is the newest member of the Smart Marketing Team, in the position of copywriter and research assistant. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Education for grades 7-12 and a Master's in Literacy. She is also a high school Spanish teacher and basketball coach in upstate New York. She enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with friends and family, and owes her success in handling so many activities to strong organizational skills and a positive outlook on life-long learning. She loves to continue her own learning so that she can help educate the public on a wide variety of topics.

Suzie Higgins has that "can do" and "whatever it takes" attitude that has made her an invaluable member of the Smart Marketing team. As our Office Administration person, Suzie provides essential back up and support to staff and clients. Suzie's background is in Real Estate and she is also a part-time Realtor. As a Realtor Suzie understands the value of listening to client's needs while staying 100% organized. Suzie enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and their dog Norman. She likes finding fun and new projects to keep her busy, reading, and walking for exercise.
